Steve Fleegal, Executive Director, Appalachia Ohio Alliance (AOA)
The conservation of land and water resources is a critical need in the 21st century. Clean water, outdoor recreational opportunities, spaces for nature-based education, connection and observation, and the provision of sufficient, connected habitats to assure the sustainability of Ohio’s many native species – are some of the numerous conservation benefits that enhance the quality, livability and wellness of our communities.
AOA is the local non-profit conservancy that serves the land and water conservation needs of the Central Ohio / Scioto River Watershed region. AOA collaborates with many compatible groups to help achieve conservation objectives.
Steve will share his perspective on the positive impact conservation-oriented photography can have for organizations such as AOA.
Steve has 13 years of land and water conservation leadership experience. Prior to joining the land trust community Steve was the principal of a municipal consulting firm, responsible for planning, funding and implementing a wide range of public sector projects. A graduate of Virginia Tech, Steve has served on the board of directors of a half dozen non-profit organizations.
