Leonardo Carrizo - Travel Photography

Leonardo has a passion for international travel and in addition to teaching at OSU, he has both led student trips and worked as an independent photographer for national and international publications.  Come hear about some of these locations and be inspired for your travel photography!  His website is:

Leonardo has over 13 years of teaching experience at The Ohio State University, where he teaches multimedia journalism, photojournalism, visual communication design, and user-centered design for the School of Communication. While earning his M.A degrees at OSU and OU, Leonardo traveled to several Spanish speaking countries photographing people, festivals, and culture. During his travels, he has been on a Portuguese fishing boat, with Andean Mountain communities, in the Ecuadorian Amazon, and with Irish farmers among  many other travel adventures. Leonardo has a passion for traveling and teaching photography in the field to students. He continues to do independent photography work for national and international publications, documenting the human condition, diverse cultures, and conservation. Leonardo is a native Spanish speaker and has general conversation Portuguese language skills. He has led various student trips in Baja California Sur, Mexico (2022) Portugal (2019), Canadian Artic (2019), Iceland (2018), Ireland (2018), Ecuador and the Galápagos (2015, 2016, 2017, 2021), Peru (2016) and Barcelona, Spain (2016). 

He is currently teaching at The Ohio State University where his photojournalism work entitled "Dancing with Devils" will be on exhibition at the Barnett Center for Integrated Arts and Enterprise this month starting 9/21.   For more details click link below:
