Portraits on the Road or The Evocative Portrait. 

Tom will discuss what goes into making a strong portrait, often with limited amount of time.  He will talk about the importance of establishing connection, finding the perfect location, using light to bring your vision to reality and the latest advancements in flash that enables working quicker in the field.  And he will discuss some of his favorite assignments and portraits, everything from photographing a cliffside wedding to creating environmental portraits of monks high in the Himalayas in Bhutan.  Here is Tom's bio:

Tom Bol is an editorial and commercial photographer based in Colorado.  He specializes in adventure sports, portraits and travel photography.  He is a contributor to many photography publications including Outdoor Photographer and Digital Photo Pro, and is an instructor at Kelby One.  National Geographic Adventure listed Tom as one of “50 of America’s Top Visionaries” for his photography, and he has been featured in numerous photography magazines about his creative lighting techniques.  Photo District News labeled him as one of the best photo workshop instructors in the country.  Tom is a member of the Sandisk Extreme Team recognizing his continual drive to create unique images in challenging environments.  He has written three books on photography including Adventure Sports Photography: Creating Dramatic Images in Wild Places. His images and stories are published worldwide by a variety of clients.
