Jim is best known and self-identifies as a conservationist who uses photography as a means of promoting wildlife (flora and fauna) and habitat re conservation. This flows from his 31 years working with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. Among the books that he has published is the award winning Wild Ohio: The Best of Our Natural Heritage. He has contributed a great deal to the literature shared among "birders," as well. In 2020 he presented to Westbridge on photographing insects--which ties in with the theme of macro photography.
